Below is a recording of the Special Meeting held in Woodlynne Borough on 11/18/24, which was scheduled to begin at 7:00PM. Key Points:
- Council voted unanimously to approve working with three different CBOs. (CCCOEO, New Beginnings Behavioral Health, Rutgers University)
- Council really doesn’t seem to trust consultant Emmanuel Iwuoha, with whom Mayor Chukwueke has been working on the EPA grant application.
- Councilman Fuentes appeared to be confused about what information/discussion was between him and Council/Mayor, and what the consultant sent.
- For those, like myself, who have never seen him before, the gentleman sitting next to Councilperson Feliciano is Woodlynne Borough’s CFO Joseph Cusati.
- Lower than usual Resident turnout, which is saying something since very few Residents actually show up.
Once again, it should be noted that this meeting failed OPMA compliance for notice. The clerk has stated on the record that written notice was sent out on 11/13 to both newspapers. The Retrospect printed on 11/15, and the Courier-Post printed on 11/17 (which was not 48+ hours). The submission deadline for the Courier-Post is two days prior to publication. With how often the Courier-Post publishes, the only thing that makes sense is that the notice went out later than the clerk claims. I have reached out to the Courier-Post for confirmation of when they received notice from the Borough.
